This notice was also served to the company behind Vimal Kumar Aggarwal, JB Industries President, Vimal Pan Masala.
Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgan, and Tiger Shroff receive notice from misleading pan masala advertisement from Jaipur Consumer Court.
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Jaipur II, has directed all the parties to appear for the scheduled hearing on March 19 at 10 am. The Commission led by Chairman Gayarsilal Meena and member Hemalata Aggarwal said in its notice that the failure in appearance will result in results. Biased decision. The accused have been instructed to submit their reactions within 30 days of receiving the notice.
This notice is issued in response to a complaint filed by Jaipur-based advocate Yogendra Singh Badiyal. He alleged that the advertisement claims the product incorrectly by claiming “Daane Daane Mein Hai Kesar Ka Dum” (Every grain has the power of saffron) which he believes is beneficial to the public. Apart from this, he has also expressed concern about how there is not even a grain of saffron in the product, which further indicates how it can be dangerous, as it can cause serious health diseases, and something as ‘cancer’.
According to Mr. Badiyal, it is earning large-scale profits for the misleading marketing company, while encouraging consumers to use a product that can lead to serious health issues, including cancer. The advocate has demanded legal action against the manufacturer and actors supporting the brand, demanding a ban on both the product and its advertisement. He urged the authorities to impose a heavy fine on the accused for allegedly misleading and threatening public health.
So far, there has been no official response from actors or JB industries regarding the allegations.
